Being civilized is not an absolute concept...!!!

 Foremost of all the popular human pursuits is the conditioning of our behavior in terms of commonly accepted codes; so that we can call ourselves as "civilized", contrary to the feelings generated by the word "savage". The paradigms which define these "codes" undulatingly keep changing like  a maiden's attitude toward a nouveau riche neighbor. Can we trust the veracity of these rapidly evolving "reference levels"; if yes then to what degree and if no, then why it should not be supplanted with something else ?

Education or Literacy...?

Can education be achieved without being literate ? If yes then why do we need to undergo the conventional training, and if no then can  we all of us, who have learnt some sort of factual or analytical methodoligies or studies and hence claim to be literate in some sense and call its certification by different names, call ourselves educated ? Is it necessary to receive some kind of training to be able to suggest ourselves that we are literate or educated or whatever ! If yes then are we not under the assumption that we knew what we wanted to learn and eventually get preoccupied with the presumption that in due course of time the subject matter would be learnt ? This assumption if at all exists is probably false because we can claim to have  accomplished  a task whatever it may be, only when the proponents that scaffold the paradigms defined by the task are known.We are made to see the stereotypical image of the task and perhaps not the task itself and it would be non simplistically foolish to convince ourselves that the image is what we wanted to see.The dichotomy is inseparable from the context. And if the answer to the question is in the negation then why does the modern and civilized world has institutions which  profess to give training in disciplines which keep bifurcating  like meiosis cell division?Can we have better institutions that  epitomise  evolution of human race ?Can we dare to say yes ?
